Week 4

Given a talk by Southpaw, from their i understand how a simple idea can help in different area. And by experience, we can learn from lesson but try to avoid from it. Beside that quality is important.


After the class i use a short time to discuss and show progress of and concept to lecturer. And lecturer tell me that there is abit too many content need to located in a application. Try to figure out what are the information that traveller will need. Beside that one of the lecturer feedback is the content can use fake one. no need to be 100% true . So in conclusion, i try to find out the information that user want to know so that i can minimal the data of content.

Today in Joanne class, I learn some prototype of interactive video by using keycode in Flash.  Other than that i learn to animate a sea gull in Adobe Dreamweaver by using setInterval.

After that i continue to analyze the content. I remove weather feature inside the app due to the time to explode the gesture and troubleshoot may need more time and from the application references i found, there aren't any weather feature in it.

I did a very short consultation with Joanne and she advice me to find out a narrative content for my application.

Today base on the idea i create the proposal. Beside that i research on how to create a proposal by using smart target. Although lecturer has explain during the class but i still not really sure how to apply it.  I google to search the definition.

Today i learnt some javascript animation in HTML 5 from Joanne class. Using scrolling to to create a animation of an object rotate. After class, I had a consultation with the lecturer about my application. After that i try to find out more possibility . For example like add in weather features and hotel content and facilities in the island.

I find out the total of the hotel that are on the island and the website of hotel so that i can collect the information that i need to input into the application.

Beside that i also find out what are the facilities around the island for example like scuba diving centre, Airport & jetty and souvenir shop. I also find out where are the food shop available in the island. Then i organize the content to input to the application.

Week 2

Today i discuss with lecturer about what will i like to learn and is the idea i have in my mind. First, I describe that i will like to make youtube video to form a website. The youtube video is basically a website that able to operate by user. And is it shoot by motion graphic then edit with after effect and premier pro to create a video. I also show them the reference that i found.

During the discussion, lecturer ask why i will like to learn and lecturer also suggest that the time for this assignment is a bit limited to do motion graphic. Because i need to design the art and need to set the position and every to do the motion graphic so lecturer suggested me to do something else.
Lecturer suggest can do something that are currently in the trend like an application. Then lecturer suggest me to create a book application with Adobe Indesgin.

Then i continue on my research about how to create an application by using Indesign.

Today i present the story book application with indesign to another lecturer.
i personally think the idea is not strong enough, indesign is too easy. not much of learning if i am doing this project. Then i show the tutorial of indesign creating an book application.

The comments that get back from lecturer are similar to what i think. She say that if i really want to do with Indesign I need to create  interest animation that normally people will not create by using that software.

She suggest me to  use other way on creating an application. And think of what other kind of application that i can do and finish in this period of time.

After the consultation i discuss with my classmate about the idea i have about a travel map application. I continue on my research and while doing research i realize gesture base are very interesting. Then i continue doing more research one Accelerometer and gesture.

I did idea refinement base on the research i make, finalize the idea and fill up the form. I confirm the problem that the application is trying to solve. I will design an application for traveller to use while travelling in redang island. Basically the app will have a map for user to check out what is on the map and interact with the application like a virtual island. By doing that user are about to find out more information about Redang island.

I find out what are the thing i need to do while creating an application and what are the due date before i create my gantt chart. Then i start creating gantt chart so that i can follow up my work. Figure out what is the best time to do the work.

Week 1

Today we get assignment brief. Our lecturer start to brief us on our project scope.  After that, i try to go deeper on the project scope. Base on the project brief, we need to find out what the skill set that we will like to learn and use to create a project within 7 week of production weeks.  During this first three of pre-production weeks, I need to come out with an idea and proposal. So during today class, our lecturer show some of the example that we make create for our project. And i got some inspiration from the lecture.

Beside that we need to fill up the form which help us to define the project. For this project we need to do something that we haven't try in our lesson. After scanning through my previous work, i realise that i am not the strong is video editing and shooting side. So i will like to create a youtube video with decision making.

I come out with an idea to create a stop motion website video. It is basically a website created by video. And by using the decision making of youtube . User are able to control the video like a website. The video is record by using stop motion.

Base on that idea, i try to find what are the tool that able to help to fulfil the idea. So basically i do my research on searching through website.
